It’s about rewarding yourself
This world is full of stresses. Partners, children, jobs, financial pressures and so on. It’s not really surprising that some people develop a habit called ‘smoking’. Because when these stresses occur, smoking gives yourself a ‘little break’ or ‘reward’ to make yourself feel better. And as this becomes reinforced as a habit, the cycle becomes:
STRESS SITUATION +
HAVE A CIGARETTE =
FEEL BETTER
Having a little break...
Think about it - a few times per day you give yourself a ‘little break’, a ‘reward’ from the harsh realities of the world. Not only do you do that, but the way you do it also relaxes you - think what taking a drag of cigarette smoke is like... you draw your breath down in a way that you might only normally breathe if you were trying to relax, breathing slower and deeper than normal. And breathing slower and deeper than normal is something that’s often associated with other times when relaxation is needed (such as doing yoga or starting to meditate). So you’ve actually conditioned yourself to breathe differently - in a way that helps to physically relax you.
If you are truly committed to stopping smoking you’ll find that the Quit Smoking session:

Have you tried to stop and found yourself struggling? It needn’t be that way. Using powerful hypnotic techniques, you can feel great as a non-smoker...
Using the powerful techniques of hypnosis, psychology, positive imagining and focused relaxation, many smokers within Winchester and Hampshire have already stopped smoking within just a single session with me. Quitting smoking can be very easy, when done in the right way.
‘Something that you thought was going to be difficult can be incredibly easy... almost ridiculously easy!’
Giving up again?
So you’ve tried patches, gum, lozenges, willpower or just plain cold turkey - and you stop. But those stresses are still there: the difficult job, the nagging boss, the financial pressures, and so on. You’ve stopped smoking, but the stresses are still there and you don’t see any quick benefits of stopping smoking. Sure, those benefits of stopping will be there, but they take time. In fact those benefits really seem to be months or even years away!
The health reasons, the money gains, the ‘feeling better’ all seem so far away, so far into the future. In fact they seem to be so far in the future that they become meaningless. And on top of all that you no longer have that ‘little break’ and ‘reward’ to help you cope with the stresses of life. Is it no wonder that people struggle?
