The Power of Suggestion
Have you heard of the ‘Power of Suggestion?’. Well Suggestion Therapy is all about using positive suggestions to change or replace habits and behaviours. It’s generally a very powerful and effective way of treating certain issues.

What is treated by Suggestion Therapy?
Simpler problems usually respond extremely well to Suggestion Therapy. Typical problems would include smoking, nail biting, driving test nerves, fear of flying, interview nerves, confidence boosting, public speaking, etc.  Sports Performance, weight management, control of discomfort, guided imagery for the promotion of self-help, and sleep problems generally come into this category of therapy, but some of these problems are also treated by analytical therapy.

How many sessions will it take?
These types of issues usually require just one, two or three sessions. The sessions are normally 60 minutes duration, but this can vary according to the issues. The number and duration of sessions can usually be quite accurately assessed at your free Initial Consultation.
There are many misconceptions about hypnosis, which are brought about by fiction, fear or just a lack of knowledge. Many people’s misconceptions originate from stage hypnotists, who like to give the illusion of control (how many banks have you heard of that have been ‘held up by a hypnotist’?!!).
In fact hypnosis is totally natural and will happen to most of us every day of our lives... Click here to read more
Hypnosis is quite simply a tool, that then enables the therapy to take place. The hypnosis relaxes the conscious mind, which allows the subconscious mind to be accessible. When your conscious mind is relaxed, the therapy is then applied.  Several types of therapy are used, the main ones being:
·
Suggestion therapy.
·
Analytical therapy.
Uncovering the causes of emotional problems
Analytical Therapy (hypno-analysis) is used to uncover the causes of psychological problems which are producing external symptoms.

What is treated by Analytical Therapy?
Emotional problems respond particularly well to Analytical Therapy. The therapy is based on the doctrine of ‘cause and effect’, where every symptom must have a cause. Analytical Therapy can reveal and remove the cause, thus removing the symptoms. The objective of Analytical Therapy is to bring you to ‘a moment of surprising and liberating enlightenment’ and bring about a lasting release from the symptoms - many other types of treatment seek to control the symptoms, but Analytical Therapy seeks to remove the cause.
In general, this would include panic attacks, deep seated fears and phobias, some sleep issues, sexual problems, addictions, and deeper rooted emotional problems.

How many sessions does it take?
Most clients will take around 6-8 sessions, but it may take anywhere up to a maximum of 12 sessions. The number of sessions needed varies according to the person and the issues. The sessions are 50 minutes duration and held at approximately weekly intervals.
