“Hypnotherapy, is simply, the best way to give up smoking”
When we do something many, many times over, we become conditioned to it. A habit is exactly this - something our subconscious mind has learned over a long period of time and it then becomes conditioned to it. For example, when you learned to walk you had to think ‘I need to put one foot in front of the other’ to get to where you wanted to go. I bet you don’t think about what foot you’re using now; it’s just a learned habit.
This is the same as when we learn to drive. We have to ‘consciously’ think about what gear we’re in as we learn. But as an experienced driver we rarely stop and think ‘What gear am I in?’ - we just do it as a subconscious learned habit.
Try this to show yourself the effects...
Try folding your arms now. Go on, actually fold your arms. Easy isn’t it? That’s because it’s a learned habit. Now try folding your arms the other way round. Oops - not quite so easy that way round - and it probably feels a little awkward? That’s because you’ve conditioned your body into a learned habit. And smoking is no different: ‘I’m bored and need my little reward’, or ‘I’m stressed and need my little reward’ or ‘Time for a coffee and my cigarette’ or whatever the habit has become - so that eventually you don’t even think about it, your subconscious just does it, and like folding your arms the other way round it feels a little odd without it!
The New Scientist reported that:
‘Hypnosis is the most effective way of giving up smoking, according to the largest ever scientific comparison of ways of breaking the habit. Willpower it turns out, counts for very little’

If you were driving along in your car and there was a long traffic queue, you might get bored and have a cigarette. Many people have conditioned themselves into that type of habit. Would you like a much better reward than a cigarette?
How about if someone ran along side your car, and every time you were bored and you thought about a cigarette, instead of you lighting up, that person gave you £1,000 in cash. Think about it... really visualise it... You wind down your window, and there they are, smiling away and counting out £1,000 in crisp twenty pound notes! What a feeling of excitement, anticipating what you can do with all that extra cash! And the next time you had the same experience, exactly the same thing happens. And the next. And so on... Wouldn’t that be a really amazing feeling?
In this way you’re dislodging the old conditioning and the old habit - because you’ve got a new and better reward. You’ve stopped doing something that you thought would be difficult - and it was easy because you had better feelings. And this is where the power of hypnosis and Hypnotherapy comes in, by placing powerful suggestions deep within your subconscious mind to SUPERCHARGE really positive feelings inside you.
So that you actually feel fantastic by being a non-smoker!
