Guide to choosing a Hypnotherapist
7. Does the therapist give a professional image?
8. Is the consulting room professional and calm?
9. Is the therapist covered by professional indemnity insurance?
10. How many sessions are likely to be needed?
11. Do you feel comfortable with the therapist?

More details below...
1. Decide if you’d prefer a male or female therapist.
2. Look at the websites or other information from the professional organisations, most of whom publicise lists of their members.
3. Does the therapist deal with your type of problem?
4. Does the therapist give a free Initial Consultation?
5. What qualifications do they have?
6. How much are the session fees?
Are you clear about the fees, and the potential length of treatment? Most Suggestion Therapy treatments will take around 1-3 sessions, and Analytical type sessions around 6-8 sessions (and up to 12). It is rare for sessions to go beyond this number.
Any professional Hypnotherapist will be pleased to tell you about their qualifications, their professional organisation, their professional indemnity insurance and the therapy. Don’t be afraid to ask.
When visiting a therapist for an Initial Consultation, this is your opportunity to ask questions. Have a look around, is the consultation room presented professionally and calmly? Is the therapist professional in their approach? Do they take time to explain things properly to you? Do you feel comfortable?
Are you happy about confidentiality? If not, ask questions.
After finding out all the information that you need, are you comfortable with the therapist?
