This very special award was presented to John at a conference in Bristol on October 30th, 2007. Penny Brohn Cancer Care is internationally renowned as a leading centre for the integration of complementary and medical approaches to cancer care.

Penny Brohn Cancer Care is the home of the ‘Bristol Approach’ and is recognised as a centre of excellence in its field. The organisation also provides complementary health training in conjunction with the University of the West of England.
“I was very humbled and pleased to accept this fantastic award, particularly as I offer specialist help to people affected by cancer - both those with a cancer diagnosis and their supporters.

Penny Brohn Cancer Care is a unique and amazing organisation. It offers many ways of helping people and I would recommend it to anyone affected by cancer. It also offers the highest standards of health training to both complementary and medical practitioners and again, I recommend this training to any health practitioners working with people affected by cancer.

My own training with Penny Brohn Cancer Care and the University of the West of England included gaining the ‘Bristol Cancer Help Centre Certificate for Working with People with Cancer’ and formal accreditation of this Certificate by further specialised study into aspects of cancer with the University. I have built on this with further study and I regularly attend specialist seminars and conferences and interact with some of the leading researchers in the world in the area of cancer and complementary approaches.

If you are affected by cancer I am very pleased to be able to offer the highest standards of specialist complementary health care within my own particular field.”
